Nazarene Compassionate Ministries USA/Canada partners with Nazarene interests to facilitate ministries which address the temporal as well as the spiritual needs of the economically disadvantaged.
Compassionate Ministry Centers
A Compassionate Ministry Center (CMC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the under-resourced in the community. These organizations may be affiliated with a local church. Click here to view resources and education materials for those interested in starting a CMC and for those already involved in one of our organizations.
Good Samaritan Churches
A Good Samaritan Church is the Nazarene designation for a local church involved in meeting the needs of a community through a direct program of the church. This could be anything from a group organized to volunteer at the local soup kitchen to a full, functional counseling service within the local church. Whereas a CMC operates as a separate entity, a Good Samaritan Church does similar ministry within the framework of the church. It is our goal and prayer that every local Nazarene Church would be a Good Samaritan Church.
Disaster Response
Nazarene Disaster Response (NDR) is a volunteer service responding to victims of natural and human-made disasters. It serves them regardless of race, creed, or economic status by concentrating on assistance to the poor, elderly, and handicapped, providing cleanup and restoration assistance for relief and reconstruction, enabling disaster victims to resume a normal life pattern. NDR cooperates with other disaster agencies to meet broader relief and recovery efforts whenever possible.
