Nazarene Motorcycle Fellowship (NMF) is about Nazarene biker ministries helping other Nazarene biker ministries reach the lost for Christ through the sharing of ideas and information. Being an associate of NMF is not so much about what you get from NMF but more about what you give to each other as associates. NMF has three primary ways of connecting and sharing information:
- The NMF Communications Network. Emails are currently sent to NMF associates who have provided a valid email address. If you have information you feel would benefit other associates, email ideas to David Middendorf at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming an NMF Associate have them send their e-mail address to David Middendorf at email@example.com.
- Patches and Contribution. To obtain NMF Associate patches or contribute to NMF or the Rusty Bellomy Bikes for Missions project go to www.drivenbythespirit.org
- NMF on Facebook. Currently there are 179 friends on the NMF Facebook page. Join us and post what’s happening in your ministry; check out the discussion page; add to what’s been said; or create a new topic.
The Rusty Bellomy Bikes for Missions Project
On July 18, 2008, while taking his grandson for a motorcycle ride near his Ashland, Kentucky home, Russell L. “Rusty” Bellomy was killed tragically and his grandson seriously injured by a drunk driver. This retired steelworker was an active member of Ashland (KY) First Church for 29 years. Rusty’s heart and soul were dedicated to the Eastern Kentucky District Work & Witness projects, participating in 31 trips across the US and around the world while also serving as Work &Witness district coordinator for 11 years. In addition, Bellomy served as a member of the district Advisory Board, the Eastern Kentucky Nazarene Missions International Council, the Camp Board, and represented the District as a lay member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Board of Trustees.
At The Rockledge Rumble!, the first-ever Nazarene Motorcycle Fellowship (NMF) event, held in conjunction with the 27th General Assembly, The Rusty Bellomy Bikes for Missions Project was introduced to honor this long-time biker and Nazarene. Speaking on behalf of the NMF Board, Rev. David Middendorf, chairperson, explained that this project provides funds for use in purchasing motorcycles for pastors on the mission field where such a vehicle will increase their ability to spread the gospel.
The Nazarene Motorcycle Fellowship encourages Nazarene bikers to make contributions and biker groups to take offerings at their events, including Biker Sundays, rallies, and rides. All funds given to the Rusty Bellomy Bikes for Missions Project qualify as a 10% Giving Special. These funds will be used by pastors around the world to reach their region with the gospel. A check in the amount of the funds received should be made payable to “Bellomy Bikes for Missions” and sent to:

What does it mean to be registered with NMF?
by David Middendorf
The Nazarene Motorcycle Fellowship will be a clearinghouse of information and resources for individuals and churches that are interested in ministering to their local community through motorcycles. When you register with NMF you are simply becoming a resource for others who feel led to minister in this unique community. There are a great variety of motorcycle ministries who minister to a wide range of bikers. NMF exists to equip and encourage individuals and churches to minister to their specific biker community. NMF is not a ministry in and of itself to bikers, it is not a club that you join, it is a resource to help you reach the biker community in your area using the knowledge and experience of established biker ministries in Nazarene churches around the world.
I have had many ask me, will NMF fly colors, will there be chapters, will there be dues to pay? The answer to all of those questions is no. NMF is not about creating one Nazarene Biker Ministry. Biker ministries need to be specific to your area of ministry. NMF is not about seeing how many we can count as part of an organization; it is about giving you the tools to bring men and women who ride motorcycles into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
